Classification:
ANALGESIC,
CENTRALLY ACTING

Dosage:
Adult usual dosage: 50-
100 mg PO q4-6 hrs; do
not wxceed 400mg/day.


Route: ORAL

Relief of moderate to moderately
severe pain.

Contraindicated with allergy
to tramadol or opioids or
acute intoxication with
alcohol, opioids or
psychoactive drugs.
Use cautiously in pregnancy.
Lactation, seizures,
concominant use of CNS
depressants or MAOIs, renal
dysfunction, or hepatic
impairment.

Common side-effects
Dizziness/vertigo
Dreaming
Sweating
Anxiety
Hypotension
Tachycardia
Bradycardia
Nausea and
vomiting
Pruritud
Rash
Pallor
Urticarial
Flatulence
Drymouth
Constipation
Anaphylactic
reactions




1. Assess for hypersensitivity
to tramadol.
2. Assess for skin color,
texture, lesions, orientations,
reflexes.
3. Monitor BP, temperature,
liver function test.
4.Control environment if
sweating or CNS effects
occur.
5. Limit use in patients with
past and present history of
addiction to or dependence
on opioids.
6. Tell to the client the side
effects of the Tramadol.
7. Report the severe Nausea ,
dizziness, and constipation.
