Introduction to Christian

Education
EDUC310
Course Description
The primary purpose of this course is to serve as an overview of the
principles of Christian Education from the view points of home, church and
school.
The basic assumption is that if you are a Holy Spirit-filled believer who
regularly attends a Bible-believing church, you have something important
to share with the people God has placed in your sphere of influence. Your
studies at MBC&S will serve to support your personal walk with God in
your unique calling.
Whether God calls you to be a missionary, pastor, counselor, teacher,
body member or parent (which is all of the above), you will be teaching
someone, somewhere. The intent of this course is to give you a philosophic
foundation to begin thinking through the topic of educating as a Christian.

What is a teacher?
You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that
is in Christ Jesus.
And the things that you have heard from me
among many witnesses, commit these to faithful
men who will be able to teach others also.

What is a teacher?
The teacher is an informed
guide whose knowledge of a
given area enables him to
direct a learners efforts to
attain wisdom, thus saving the
learners time and strength and
helping him discern truth from
error.

What is a learner?
Come unto me, all [ye] that
labour and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest. Take
my yoke upon you, and learn of
me; for I am meek and lowly in
heart: and ye shall find rest
unto your souls. For my yoke
[is] easy, and my burden is
light.
Matthew 11:28-30 KJV
Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your
paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You [are]
the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.
Psalms 25:4-5 NKJV
