    Kharif Sowing Crosses 966 Lakh Hectare Mark

    Sowing of kharif crops showed a steady increase during this week. The total sown area as on 29th
    August, as per reports received from States, stands at 966.25 lakh hectare as compared to 998.01 hectare at
    this time last year.
    The details of the areas sown so far this year and last year are given below: -
