and making tremendous strides in their learning! On Monday, the scholars will bring home their very first progress report, which gives you a good indication of how well they are doing so far. Please call, text, or email me if you would like to set up a conference, where we can discuss spe- cific details regarding your scholars progress! I would like to remind all families about the weekly homework paper that scholars bring home each Monday. These forms out- line the homework assign- ments that I believe will support their learning in the classroom. Depending on each childs personal strengths, it may not be feasible to complete each assignment every night, and thats ok! Just work on homework assignments for 30 minutes each night, Monday-Thursday, and then initial next to each assign- ment your scholar has com- pleted. On Friday, scholars will turn in their homework sheets, which I collect for a grade. I began counting homework for a grade be- ginning last week (week 5), so please make sure you and/or another family mem- ber are helping scholars complete their homework! Additionally, please make sure you are checking your scholars backpack each night. Often times, I will send home, or will ask scholars to put important documents and assignments in their backpacks that need your attention. It is also helpful to take any work scholars did at school out of their backpackthey love showing you all their hard work, and its great review of what they learned at school! Thank you!
At school, scholars are continuing to learn about the Seven Habits. We focused on Habit #5 last week, which asks us to listen to other peoples ideas and feelings, so that we can better understand them. We also talked about how important it is to look someone in their eyes when speaking to them, in order to communicate better. This coming week, we will begin learning about Habit #6Synergize!
