Company Name and Location

Our chosen corporation is named Lafarge Republic Inc., (formerly know as
Fortune Cement Corporation). Its main headquarters can be found at 20F The
Salcedo Tower, 169 H.V. Dela Costa Street, Salcedo Village, Makati. Meanwhile,
the production plant our group visited is located at Brgy. Mapulo, Taysan, Batangas.

Nature of the Industry

Lafarge is involved in the large-scale production of cement. It is a leading
presence in the Philippine cement industry and offers innovative solutions bringing
greater safety, comfort and quality of life.

Year Started

Lafarge Republic was organized and registered in 1967 back when it
was known as Fortune Cement. The corporation is currently on its 47
th
year.

Type of Organization

Lafarge Republic Inc., formerly known as Fortune Cement Corporation, is a
producer of cement. Lafarge follows a corporation business organization that was
established in 1967. The corporation is also ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, and
OHSAS 18001:2008 certified.

Capacity and Number of Employees

Lafarge Republic engages in large-scale cement production processes. The
present capacity of the Taysan, Batangas plant is a total production of 3200 tons of
cement per day, a significant increase from a previous capacity of 2600 tons per
day. Lafarge Republic employs over 1200 employees in all its plants and offices

nationwide. Specifically, its plant located in Taysan, Batangas has a total of 147
employees, which composes of both the management and factory workers.

Main Product; Brands

The main products of Lafarge Republic Batangas Plant are Lafarge Fortune
Cement and Lafarge Republic Cement. (To be discussed further later on)
