DAIRY FARM

On Thursday we went to the dairy farm. Mrs Glass drove

us there.
When we arrived there Jamie brought two poddy calves
to us in a trailer. The calves were soft and cute. We
were allowed to pat the calves.
Next we went to where the cows were milked. Two
cows went to be milked. One was a small jersey cow and
the other was a larger Friesian cow. The Friesian cow
made more milk than the jersey. They are milk a 4am
and 4pm. The Friesian made 13 litres of milk.
A lady showed us how to make cottage cheese.
Jamie talked about what the cows eat. They eat pasture,
silage and crushed wheat.
After our visit me William and Annabelle went with the
little kids.
