Gruwell's class wonders how she is going to be bale to handle

the class when most teachers think they can't read or write. He think she'd ric
h and that she is "too young and too white to be working here". He seems to thin
k that everybody in the class isn't supposed to be here when he sees a white kid
in the corner of the class. His friends think that Ms. Gruwell wont last long t
eaching, he gives her a month.
I would describe the speaker's personality as cynical. The way he talks about th
e teacher how she thinks she's the one who is going to change them, it sounds li
ke he has gone through this before.
The purpose of the diary entry is to tell us what he thinks about Ms. Gruwell an
d the class. The audience of this diary is to students and teachers.
I myself never had the problems the student in this diary seems to have, but a f
riend of mine did have difficulty in school and feel like the teachers have give
n up on him.
