1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees Celsius 2. Line a tray with baking paper 3. Beat the butter, caster sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined 4. Beat in 1 egg 5. Stir in plain flour in two batches 6. Stir in chocolate chips until evenly distributed 7. Spoon tablespoons of the dough into balls and place on the tray. Press down slightly 8. Bake for 16 minutes then transfer to an airtight container
