1. Describe three specific points, within the photo,

that help move the viewer's eye around the image.

The actual rows of flowers help the viewer analyze around the whole image (following the rows
up and down).
The different colors of the flowers, (pink, yellow and orange) catch the viewers eye which in
turn direct their eyes forwards and backwards along the image.
The moving sky captures a viewers attention and helps them study the rest of the photo.

The diagonal lines in this photo make a mind wonder and takes the viewers eye to different points. This
diagonal pattern grabs the viewers attention and attracts their eyes all over the picture. This attraction
allows them to see all of the different interests (subjects and surroundings) of the photo.

The planes in this photo achieve a sense of deep space. The different depths and shadows of the
grooves in the wall create this sense. The ridges and grooves of the shapes in the wall create this deep
space.

1. List three words/adjectives that describe the visual
qualities of one solid in the photo (first identify which
solid you are describing).

Next, explain how the photographer was able to
communicate those particular characteristics about the
solid.

For example: maybe the photographer used a sense of
scale to suggest the specific size of the solid

Maybe the way the solid is lit (lighting) shows the three-
dimensional form of the solid very well.


Soccer ball Weathered, Tattered & Bulbous

The photographer was able to communicate this because of the focus on the ball along with the right
amount of light/shadow to create a 3-D effect. This round shape allows us to realize that the soccer ball
is a sphere.
