This photo of a rose is a strong photo because it uses elements of art and
principles of design, follows the rules of photograph composition, and captures a unique
moment. Firstly, the texture of the beads of water are wet contrasting with the flowers
dry, smooth texture. Also, it has perspective, being taken at a unique angle. The dark
value of the background contrasts really well with the lighter tones of light shining of the
rose. Additionally, the pictures main focus is isolated with a simple background creating
a clear focal center. The center of the flower is also avoiding the middle creating a more
interesting picture. The photographer was also creative with colors having the lighter
grey values contrast the black of the background.
