Comparing Quantities
1. Malvika gets 98 marks in her exams. This amounts to 56% of total marks. What are
the maximum marks?(Ans:175)

2. Out of her total income Mrs Sharma spends 20% on house rent, 70% on household
expenditure. If she saves Rs1800, what is the total income?(Rs 18000)

3. Anushree has to pay 4% sales tax in addition to the price of certain article. Find the
price of article, if she pays Rs2.60 in all?(Rs2.50)

4. A man sold two articles at Rs25920 each. These were sold at 8% gain and 4%loss
respectively. Find the gain or loss percent in the whole transaction. (28/17% gain)

5. At a clearance sale, all goods are on sale at 45% discount. If I buy an article marked
