Course content:
Week 1&2:- Introduction followed by visit of High Voltage Lab facilities

Week 3&4:- Flashover of over head power line insulators followed by experiment

Week 5&6:- Grounding techniques & importance on power networks followed by experiment

Week 7&8:- Corona on O/H Lines followed by experiment

Week 9&10:- Causes of faults and diagnostics in high voltage cables

Week 11&12:- Dielectric strength of insulating media (Air-GIS & Oil) followed by experiment

Week 13&14:- V-T curves & Rod Gap/Surge arrestor protections followed by experiment

Week 15&16:- Revision & submission of last report

Grading: Pre-lab and Post-lab Quizzes 25%

Attendance 5%

Midterm Exams 20%

Lab Report & Lab performance 20%

Final Exams 30%
