Midterm
1. The questions I had inquired about upon my entry into the class can somewhat be answered
solely upon my participation and experience in the course. The question about the schedule
being set in stone has been answered, and the answer is yes, due dates are strictly enforced and
not many dates are changed from their original designation. My question about the textbook
has been answered as well. Up until this point the textbook that was a required purchase has
been the only piece of literature that has been required on a regular basis to use in the course.
The question about turning work in early due to a sickness is still somewhat of a mystery to me,
due to my lack of sickness and my lack of absence due to other reasons. Thus, the question
represents no urgency to be answered at the current time. The question of the genre of writing
our portfolio will mostly comprise of has been answered as well as a majority of our
assignments have been written in the reflective sense. This type of writing is much easier for me
to comprehend and compose, due to it being based on my personal experiences and opinions.
2. Personally I believe I am doing well with many of the key concepts presented to myself and my
peers upon our syllabi. One of the concepts I believe that I am succeeding upon is the writing
process, due to my personal enjoyment derived from writing upon subjects I desire to write
about. This desire somewhat fuels my ability to write, allowing me to be able to put my best
efforts into my work. The concept of intellectually growth I have also embraced and I feel I am
embracing the concept well, contemplating the material presented in the class, and retaining

the necessary content. The introduction of peer reviews into the writing classroom is also
allowing me to work on the concept of providing as well as receiving feedback from my peers, in
a respective and helpful way. I however do not believe I am succeeding in leaving my comfort
zone, and rely on subjects and styles of writing I am most comfortable with in order to prepare
and present my work. I do believe I have made connections with my peers, allowing myself to be
more comfortable in my learning environment.
3. My personal favorite revisions concerning my literacy narrative were the revisions of paper two
to result in my final draft. These revisions were the only revisions however due to the
difference in the first and second paper concerning my literacy. The revisions added length as
well as content to my paper, allowing the topic to be more easily grasped by an audience not
familiar with the subject. For instance, in my second paper I referred to my paintball marker as
such a Dye NT-11 with a special edition bullets annodization, and lacking a low pressure
regulator This content can be very confusing to someone who is not knowledgeable about
paintball markers. In the final edition of my paper I had translated this information into a much
simpler phrase, . A special edition paintball marker this subtle change along with many
other subtle changes resulted in a much more streamline, understandable paper that someone
who may or may not understand the sport of paintball can interpret and appreciate. Other
changes I made to the paper were including more dialogue in order to provide a more in depth
perception upon what was really happening within the situation.
4. In the sample e-portfolio I have reviewed, e-portfolio number five, the evidence of a well
written e-portfolio is evident. The special and visual modes of communication used throughout
the portfolio are also very apparent. Spatially the e-portfolio is very well made and organized
with little to no confusion created trying to navigate the portfolio. Visually the portfolio is
uniform and pleasing to the eye, creating a comfortable reading environment for the content to

be read and interpreted. The overall genre of this e-portfolio I believe to be reflective, as due to
a majority of the works in the portfolio deal with reflection upon a certain topic or question,
creating the sense of the portfolio to be solely reflecting upon personal opinion or inquired
questions. The portfolio also correlates with the rhetorical triad quite well by showcasing the
three points of purpose, author, and reader. The author utilizes her experiences and her writing
styles to effectively address the purpose of each work, despite the initial inquiry for the paper.
The readers aspect of the triad is also indirectly addressed by creating a group of works that is
somewhat easy to comprehend and decipher from which what the authors purpose of writing
each work is.
5. I believe my e-portfolio is an exemplary portfolio, dealing with many of the topics discussed on
page three of the syllabus. As of currently all of the posts of my portfolio have been completed,
and future posts are in track to be completed on time. The quality of my work discussing the
topics presented to me I believe is satisfactory, and addresses the topics in all entirety. As well
as in this midterm I reference my other writings, a key point addressed in the grading scale of
page three of the syllabus. I do not believe that my work inquires any questions about the
involvement of my engagement in the course or the content of my work concerning certain
topics. I support the evidence of my growth In the course by reflecting upon my previous works
in comparison to my latter works I notice improvement in the aspects of organization,
vernacular, and content of my works. My works are completed to the best of my ability, mainly
due to the fact that the works are based upon reflection and personal opinion, requiring my full
involvement and dedication to the work of literature I have set upon to compose.
