Windows 7 Edit the Hosts File

Need to figure out how to edit the Hosts file in Windows 7? For the most part, its pretty much the same as
Windows X and !ista, "ut with a few e#tra hiccups$
%ust if case you dont &now, the Hosts file is where you can manually enter a hostname and an ' address pair,
there"y "ypassing the (N) ser*er+ ,his can "e pretty useful in certain situation, especially for anyone in ',+
,he path to the Hosts file in Windows 7 is the same as usual-
.systemroot./system01/dri*ers/etc/
where .systemroot. is usually c-/windows unless you installed Windows on a different partition+ 2y default, you
cannot see these hidden folders since they are system folders+
,o show hidden folders in Windows 7, press the 34, 34, 34, 34, &ey while in E#plorer to "ring up the File menu+ 5lic& on

Now na*igate to the directory a"o*e and open the hosts file and ma&e your changes+
Note that this method for editing the Hosts file will not wor&+ 7ou will get a message saying you do not ha*e
permission to sa*e in this location+

see the Hosts file+
