Photo Shoot for College Magazine

For my College Magazine photo shoot, I took 2 pictures in multiple places with different
lighting and scenery

The first photograph I took was this (left), in front of CCN logo made of bricks in the
outdoors sitting area. I decided to take photos here because of the logo itself, and I
thought it would be a good place considering the magazine is about the college.
However I didnt like this photo because it wasnt central, and it was wonky.
Due to the problems with the previous photo, I decided
to retake it (right). I kept with the same place and pose,
and it was even more central. I did want to use this for
my front cover but whilst editing it in photoshop, I
realised that the colours of the masthead, coverlines etc
would be difficult to fit in with the browns, and there
was little space. Another problem I had was that the
student wasnt central, which is what I wanted, and they
only covered half of the picture.
The second place I chose for the student to be was the
same as before (left), but in the sun and in front of trees
and a college sign. I didnt particularly like this picture
mainly due to the bad lighting that I couldnt fix
successfully in photoshop, and that coverlines are
typically on the right, so the picture would have had to
have been flipped, which wouldnt have worked well
due to the writing on the sign in the background.
The second photo (right) in this area was also
unsuccessful, due to the same reasons as the photo
before, and that he wasnt central in the photo.
This (left) was the last are I used for the photo shoot,
and I felt this was successful, as its a central MCU, the
background is suitable and would attract the audience,
and the lighting is fine. I used this for my front cover, but
ended up making the background completely grey, and
lowered the contrast.
This was the last picture, and for the same reasons, I
found successful and decided to use this in black and
white for my contents page as its similar to the front
cover, and he seems happy.
