Vietnam Agrees to Atomic power ties with South Korea on November 8th 2011

Did you hear that Vietnam is making atomic power ties with South Korea? They made this agreement on November 8th 2011, but the main issue was that there could be an atomic accident and radioactive waste. The agreement was reached during talks between Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang and his South Korean counterpart Lee Myung-Bak. They both met in South Korea to discuss making power ties. Pros There are a few ways that atomic power can be used for good. You can use it for energy or electricity. This is used in nuclear power plants. It can also work with renewable energy sources such as, wind and solar. The electricity production from the plants can be lowered when good wind and solar resources are available and cranked up when the demand is high. "The two sides shared an understanding that sharing South Korea's nuclear power development experiences and technologies would contribute to fostering Vietnam's nuclear power industry," the joint statement said It is in most cases more beneficial, in terms of the climate crisis, to replace other energy harnessing methods we use today with nuclear power. The environmental effects of nuclear power are relatively light compared to others. However, nuclear waste is potential harmful for both humans and the environment. This is an alternative for other energy powers. This is better for the environment because the pollution is low! Cons There are also a few disadvantages of atomic power. One is radioactive waste that is very harmful. The nuclear power plants emit negligible amounts, if any, carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. This means that it isnt good for our air and it also causes global warming because it heats up the air. It is not great for the environment. Another con is that accidents can also happen. It is technically impossible to build a plant with 100% security. A small chance of failure will always last; the consequences would be horrible for humans and wild life. We all remember the Chernobyl accident, where the harmful effects of nuclear radiation on humans can even be witnessed today. The power plants take up too much space so they would also have to find a place to store everything they need to keep the power plant open, "We will have to stop nuclear power generation if we fail to find additional temporary space, which would be the second-best option," Hong said who is the president.
I agree with the con side because I dont think atomic power is all that good. There is always a risk that the atomic power result will turn out unpleasant. Even though atomic power can be good for use I wouldnt agree to use it. What do you think?
