Paragraph comparing article The MindTap material was educating you on the history on Internet usage, and also about internet backbones. Internet backbones are basically the connection between networks to that everyone can share information over the Internet. The article I found was talking about how the Internet went from being used by geeks to now being used for political, social, and military actions. o These two pieces of information are similar and different at the same time. They both talk about how one thing can connect the world to the same informational material, and also the different ways it can be used. o More facts that I have found include how much the internet has grown over the course of its existence. And how much our privacy is being eroded more than ever. o The historical facts that I read about before I searched for the article helped me understand todays technology by giving me a perspective on what the internet used to be, and comparing it to what I know it is now. 3. Paragraph comparing article In the MindTap unit, it explains the different kind of networks there are. One is personal networks (Bluetooth), home networks (internet servers) local area networks (school computers, computers in a hospital), wide area networks (cities, across countries, across the world). The article I found talks about having people who subscribe to stream shows, and being able to stream those shows onto their mobile devices, and not having the freedom to do so because of AEREO copyright. o These articles are similar because they talk about the uses of different networks and how theyre used. The usage of streaming to mobile devices would be used in a wide area network, and I know that because I read about what a wide area network was in the MindTap unit. o Additional facts that I found were that there is a copyright against being able to share a tv network without paying licensing fees. o Knowing about the history of the internet helped my understand this unit because I saw how when the internet first started, it was only between 13 computers. But now the internet can share information between millions and millions of mobile devices, and desktop computers.
