Case: Packet drops observed on GBOIP links in GOA,NASIK,BHIWANDI

while migrating GB traffic on Chennai SGSN which lead to slow internet browsing
in ROM Circle.
Slow internet browsing
Not able to access internet.
Pages not opening.

Action Taken:
1.Analyzed increasing customer complaints. Mapped customer locations to BSCs where it
was observed that 4 BSCs were affected.

2. Then after further analysis , observed degradation of GB links due to incorrect port
settings.

2. Studied datasheet for respective BSC models and observed issue at BSC Ethernet port,
used for GBOIP links i.e.F2GA card. Wrong port settings at BSC end observed (were half
duplex).
3. Changed port settings at respective BSCs and Router ends which resulted in link quality
improvement as also the GPRS throughput. Customer complaints got resolved and no
further issue was observed.
Result: No customer complaints Received.

Case: 95 % SIP link utilization observed.
Action Taken:

1.Observed traffic trends on SIP link over a week.

2.After analyzing traffic trend, type wise, on SIP link.

3.Sagregated MSRN traffic from SIP TG.MSRN traffic routed on MSRN TG.

4.Slight improvement observed in utilization.

5.Issue raised to ABS, to check link attributes, and to allow maximum number of sessions.

6.After discussing with Mr.Suhas (ABS), confirmation taken on link attributes.

7. changing link attributes at ABS end allowed us to pump more traffic on SIP links
which is now a 1G link.

Result: Now MAX utilization on SIP link is 10%.
