General tour company information and requirements

1. Language
Kiss the Fish is performed in English.
Please note, surtitles are suitable for this production. Surtitle equipment must be provided by
the venue / presenter.

2. Touring Company
Four actors; one musician; one technical manager/operator
One director/producer (as required)

TOTAL: 6 7

3. Accommodation
It is preferable that the company be accommodated within walking distance of good quality,
independent eating establishments..


4. Transport
For the airport hotel transfers please allow space for the company luggage requirements that
is usually 7 -10 large suitcases, 10-12 smaller bags, and a guitar.


5. Hospitality
To be provided by the venue each day, including pack in and performance days

We require bottled water, fruit juice and snacks (i.e. muesli bars, fruit, nuts, chips) for
each day we are in the venue, including pack in and performance days.

A light meal (i.e. pizza and salad / sandwiches and salad)

Note: A vegetarian option should be included.
If there is more than one show in a day we require a cooked meal between shows.

Venue requirements

1. Performance area
The ideal stage configuration is either:-
a. Wide configuration a playing space 12m x 10m plus wings
b. Narrow configuration - 10.5m x 11.5m) plus wings
This configuration is dependant on the layout of the venue

With consultation Kiss the Fish could be adapted to be performed in a space with a playing
space minimum of 10.5m wide x 9m deep.

2. Stage masking (refer to the hanging plot)
A black backdrop is required, preferably 2.5m upstage of the upstage floor cloth edge, with a
performers cross over of minimum 1m.

A minimum of 3 sets of black legs are required, in line with each line of set curtains. An extra set
of legs may be required to mask the wings depending on the venue. The wings area of the stage
must be masked for fast costume changes.



3. Floor surface
A black stage is preferable but not essential

4. Securing the Kiss the Fish set
Ideally the set is secured with wood screws directly into the stage floor.
If this is not possible then 12 x 30kg of stage weights are required (2 x 30kg for each of the 6 set
uprights)

5. Laundry and wardrobe
We require access during the season to
A washing machine.
A dryer.
An iron and ironing board, or steamer.

8. Operating position
Lights and sound need to be operated from the same front of house position, preferably
within the auditorium where the operator can clearly hear the PA system

9. Coms
One set of coms onstage in the wings (preferably stage left) and one at the
lighting/sound control position.

10. Additional Power
1 x 10amp AC power on stage for sound equipment

11. Consumable props (for each season)
Wholemeal basmati rice (raw) 4 handfuls per show
Gaffer tape 1 x white / 1 x black rolls

Front of House

There will be a temporary lock out at the start of the show but latecomers will be able to be
admitted at a suitable time in the show.

At the start of the show two performers enter the stage through the auditorium, the route to be
determined during the lighting cuing. At the end of the first half three performers exit the stage
through the auditorium. They will require access to backstage from there. During the second half
one performer exits through the auditorium and re-enters again from the same position.

Timings and crew requirements

The following schedule is an approximation of the time and crew requirements for Kiss the Fish,
dependant on access equipment for lighting focus and the in-house venue requirements for
crewing.

Lighting

Lighting units
This is a guideline of the preferred lighting equipment to be supplied by the venue. In most
instances however the lighting design can be adapted to the instruments available in the venue.

4 x Par 64 (CP 62)
18 x 1.2K PC
4 x 2K PC (can be substituted for 1.2K if 2Ks not available)
20 x medium zoom spots (eg Selecon pacific 12-28)
17 x wide zoom spots (eg Selecon pacific 23-50)
5 x mini fresnel or PC (500w or 600w) Note, 3 of these are floor lamps on the front
edge of the stage so the units needs to be physically small.
65 dimmer channels

The following lighting positions are the ideal. Adaptations can be made to fit what positions are
available in the venue

Audio

To be provided by the venue

1. 12 channel mixing console (prefer analogue)
2. 2 x small PA speakers on stands. Positioned onstage left and right at stage level (For
example Meyer UPJ; JBL PRX512M; QSC K12; JBL EON 515 XT). Note, these are the main
speakers for the show sound.
3. 1 x foldback monitor (stage left)
4. One reverb unit.

Notes
1. For larger venues flown house system speakers may be used as infill for the rear
auditorium seats
2. There is no subs required for this show
3. All microphones, DI and stands are provided by the touring company.
4. All instruments are provided by the touring company.

Kiss the Fish set

The following is provided by Indian Ink Company as part of the Kiss the Fish touring set.

1. Set Pieces
1 x canvas floor cloth 8m wide x 6m deep
3 x free standing curtain lines. Each curtain line is comprised of 2 wooden upright poles
each with a wooden bases and outrigger. These are tensioned with thick sash. Between the
poles is thin sash cord to which the curtains are rigged using small metal rings. The curtains
are moved along the sash by performers during the show to create different spaces on
stage.



The musicians area downstage is comprised of straw floor mats and cushions with
various low stands for the instruments

The following are the dimensions (in millimeters) for the Kiss the Fish set boxes
