The Miraculous Journey of Three Boys
The sound of a gunshot awakens a young boy and his two brothers. Startled, the young boy,
Cyrus, jumps up and looks through a small hole in the wall. Focused on what he sees, he was
shocked to see a terrorist group in Turkey taking over the dam.
Cyrus gains back his words and demands they leave immediately. It is too dangerous
here now we need to leave, says Cyrus impatiently. He led Amir and Jalali out the door before
they could say anything.
While sprinting down the rocky streets of Turkey, Amir asked, If we leave Turkey, then
where will we go? Answers Jalali, We cant go to Afghanistan because the Hindu Kush
Mountains are too hard to get around and there are a lot of terrorist there. The safest bet
would be to follow the Euphrates River all the way down to Kuwait along the Persian Gulf. All
boys agree and they set off on the long journey to the oil rich country of Kuwait.
A day into the journey they already have found the river and a helpful pack of gazelles.
The gazelles led them to food along the river. After a few months passed they have gotten to
the intersection of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers and three hundred miles past there in Iraq.
Suddenly tragedy struck and Jalali was bitten by a Jerboa carrying a deadly disease. After
a week Jalali left them and they sadly continued on their journey, but they were growing more
and more depressed every day because of the loss of their brother and the hopeless journey.
Eventually, they were so depressed that they quickly passed out along the side of the river.
Days passed, and then an old man was riding along the river and stumbled upon them.
As quickly as he could, he took them to the nearest hospital in Kuwait City. The two boys
received medical help and soon woke up to the beautiful city of Kuwait along the Persian Gulf.
Amir and Cyrus were so joyful they had accomplished their mission with the help of the
old man they left as soon as they could and started a new life in safety.
