Criterion A: Inquiring and analyzing Challenge:
Indonesia has many different culture based on the island and province. Each island and province has its own uniqueness in educating the young generations. All traditions and cultures give influence in nurturing and educating the children. It is such a great heritage for the next generation to get to know the culture and apply these traditions in daily life. Manygames are used to educate and teach the young generation to develop their basic skills and yet to pass the value of their culture. As grade 10 students you are challenge to inquiry and propose a design for an educational toy that inspired by traditional gamesand to promote Indonesian traditional games.
This worksheet will guide you to do your inquiry and to find information that will be helpful in creating your designs.
Your report must consist of the following items: 1. Define the problem. Whats up? (5W1H) who, when, where, why( own mind), why (target audience) , how Strategies to answer the above questions may include: 1. Identifying a target user by applying brainstorming or mind-mapping techniques 2. Interviewing, surveying and/or polling potential clients 3. Observing, filming and/or photographing users interacting with a product 4. Collecting data from experts to confirm there is a real need for a solution to the problem 5. Seeing the situation from the users/clients point of view (as an example, refer to Paul Bennett finds design in the detail at www.ted.com).
Preschoolers in SPH Sentul need improve some knowledge about the traditional games or culture and training on hand eye coordination, this is important for their motoric skills and their brain synchronization. This is important for their future so they can always have the accurate hand and eye coordination without even have to always looking at their hand when they are controlling something. For the audience itself, because they are preschoolers so dont really know about hand - eye so mostly their parents and are the one who teaches them. So we need like a simulator or a game to train their hand-eye coordination basics. Its just like developing their synchronization.according to my observation most even teenagers these days dont even know something about traditional games, if the older kids dont know about it how will the younger generations know them . So to not make the culture extinct because of the technology today in the 21 st century, they need to be reminded by the 21 st century itself. We need some media or activities that can improve their knowledge about the traditional cultures.
2. Research Plan (5W1H) Students are encouraged to formulate a list of questions in order of importance that will help prioritize and guide their research. Students will need to identify: 1. The questions that need to be answered to solve the problem 2. The relevant data that needs to be collected 3. Where the data will be sourced from 4. Whether sources are primary or secondary 5. Which sources are essential and which are desirable The question is what could improve the preschoolers hand eye coordination skills, to collect the data for it, we need to make a or just observe the preschoolers writing, this is one trick to know how good they are on hand eye coordination. If their writings are good that means they have good skills, it is the different way around, if their writings are bad than they dont have the proper skills on hand eye coordination. The source of this is primary because by seeing their hand writing this will prove that they can control their body parts, if this doesnt work, we can try to ask several preschool students to a survey.
For number 3-5, Use the table below to help you in doing your research: Step 2.INFORMATION SEEKING STRATEGIES Consider: accuracy- (complete); related (on the topic); availability (ease of use); appealing, etc. Step 3 LOCATIONS& ACCESS Consider possible sources. e.g. BOOKS, REFERENCE BOOKS (Encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs, other reference materials); AUDIO VISUAL (CD roms, Videos / VCDS & DVDS, cassettes, others), PERSONAL INTERVIEWS; INTERNET (record websites used). Indicate which maybe the best sources and why. Locate sources (Where will I find these sources?). List call numbers Primary Sources: internet Secondary Sources: Observing childrens playing hand eye coordination activities.

3. Product Analyzing Students will need to employ a range of strategies to analyze these products, such as: 1. identification of and interaction with similar products when out shopping 2. ACCESS FM methods 3. SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) 4. summary of customer reviews on commercial websites. Note: Methods could include analysis of a graphic or analysis through sketching of parts. The product will be a maze game using the gamemaker studio. This game is aiming to train the hand eye coordination skills and for the younger generations to know something about the traditional world and the games. This game will be simple yet full of meaning purpose. This game is for preschoolers so it will not be too aggressive but it will be suitable for them, like putting some cute stuff and childish stuff. This will make the to be attracted to play the game.
4. Conclusion (see Appendix A) What did I find? Why this information is relevant for my project? Whats next?(5W1H) The solution is suitable to solve the problem because kids these days like to play video games, so thats why I will make a video game. the other thing is that generations today dont really know about the traditional games and other stuff, so thats why I am going to make a simple game that will train the preschoolers hand eye coordination skills and that will educate them some of the traditional aspect of Indonesia.

To make a game we need some several steps that we need to see. We need to first brainstorm the theme of the game, like the purpose or the type of the game. Then we need to think about the story board of the game, how the game will go on and etc. after that we can draw the story board. Then we can think about the details of the game, the equipments and the stuff that could make the game more fun and attractive. Then after all of that, we need to make the game design document, so when we are starting to make the video game, we can always go back to the ideas that we have think of before we are starting to make the game. when we are making the game, we could make some changes from the main idea that we had think of, depends on the situation.

"visual motor skills, eye hand coordination." visual motor skills, eye hand coordination. N.p., n.d. Web. 12 Sept. 2014. <http://therapystreetforkids.com/EyeHandC This one covered the hand eye coordination subtopic. It helps me by giving the info that I need about children hand eye coordination skills. This source is reliable because its a website and a professional site for people especially moms to know more about their childrens. It will be still valid for 5 years because its always been the same trick and technique on children. "Hand Eye Coordination Activities For Children." Hand Eye Coordination Activities For Children. N.p., n.d. Web. 12 Sept. 2014. <http://www.ot-mom- learning-activities.com/hand-eye-coordination.html>. This website mostly covered the hand eye coordination, but it also tells me the things that could possibly help the children to improve their hand eye coordination skills by doing some activities. This info is related to my project because it gives info about the activities that can help the children to develop some skills. This source Is also reliable because its a website and not a blog. So only qualified people can get access to it. This source can still be valid for more than 5 years. "Coordination Skills For Children."Coordination Skills For Children. N.p., n.d. Web. 12 Sept. 2014. <http://www.ot-mom-learning- activities.com/coordination-skills.html>. This website is also for the games and hand eye coordination skills. This website covered the same thing like the previous source. But this source is more for mothers to teach their children the basics that they need to learn. This source is reliable because its an official website, and this source could still be valid for 5 years.
