Both the Reverend John Wesley and Charles Wesley, went to the Moravian Christians

for doctrine in 1734 A.D. Both turned to Moravianism (One God Believers). They
witnessed Jesus name baptism churches (Acts 2:38) among them in Georgia. (Knox,
pages 466-469). The author of 'Hark the herald angels sing' is Charles Wesley who
was the brother of John Wesley, founder of the Methodist church in 1739. In 1774
John Wesley lost 400 Methodist to Jesus Name Moravians in London. (R.A. Knox, page
476) Charles Wesley was somber and requested slow and solemn music for his lyrics.
More than a hundred years later, English musician William H. Cummings adapted
Felix Mendelssohn's tune to commemorate Johann Gutenberg's printing press to fit
the lyrics "Hark the herald angels sing" and since then, its music has changed.

Hark the herald angels sing

"Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled"
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim:
"Christ is born in Bethlehem"
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Christ by highest heaven adored

Christ the everlasting Lord!
Late in time behold Him come
Offspring of a Virgin's womb
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see
Hail the incarnate Deity
Pleased as man with man to dwell
Jesus, our Emmanuel
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace!

Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Risen with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"
