This article presents a dynamic modeling approach to support LNG plant compressor operations. The authors developed a dynamic model of an LNG plant's refrigerant compressor that can be used to analyze transient operations and control strategies. They validated the model using plant operational data and found it was able to accurately simulate the compressor's transient performance during startups, shutdowns, and load changes.
