Summary
In the past few years I have been working on the modification of MEMS dynamics through
* Topology optimization based on FEA methods and
* Control design.
The MEMS in this case are silicon microcantilevers with fully integrated actuators and displacement proportional
sensors. Also, I worked on laser and imaging sensor based robot localization and tracking, originally for the inspection of
cryogenic LNG/LPG storage tanks in Qatar.
During my research I have acquired expert knowledge utilizing programming languages/software such as MATLAB,
VHDL, Autodesk Inventor, Comsol Multiphysics and LabVIEW (FPGA). Further, I have experience in C/C++/C# and utilized
signal processing, model based control design, statistical filters for estimation and system identification techniques.
Previous experience includes the improvement of a combined ion implantation/AFM system, control design for AFM
based nanolithography and car alternators, programming of microcontrollers/FPGAs and mechanical designs for AFM
systems. My duties also involved writing research papers, patent applications and drafting grant proposals.
