Nature of Problem
The TNB Substation structures
had undergone major damages
following a fire which
occurred. Concrete spalling
was observed on RC walls,
beams and slabs. The strength of structural members such as slabs and beams were
deteriorated.
The Solution
Total demolition and reconstruction of damaged slabs were carried out. The beams
were strengthened using eternall! bonded Carbon "ibre Reinforced Pol!mer
#C"RP$ %aminate to increase the bending moment capacit! and Carbon "ibre
Reinforced Pol!mer #C"RP$ wrap to increase the shear capacit!. &ther locali'ed
spalling concrete was repaired b! hand patch method and formwor( grouting
method. &ther wor(s include reconstruction of bric(wall and painting wor(s.
