national programs and services for
those who are struggling with chal-
lenges such as low income, job loss,
health and insurance issues, hunger,
caregiver stress, and many others.

Free Consul tations
Anyone who lives, works, or worships in Hud-
son, Ohio may contact the CommunityRe-
source Coordinator for a social work consul-
tation. There is no fee for this service. Infor-
mation on resources and programs is provid-
ed in order to address the needs which are
presented. Mental health counseling and
psychotherapy are not provided, but refer-
rals for those services can be made if ap-
propriate. All information and records are
kept strictly confidential. Some common
reasons for consultations include:
Ohio Benefit Bank
TheCommunity ResourceCoordinator serves
as the site administrator and counselor for
Hudson'sOhio Benefit Bankoffice. Visitors
canassesstheir eligibility and complete ap-
plications for a number of government-
sponsored benefit programs, including Medi-
caid, Food Stamps/SNAP, the school lunch
program, FAFSA/student loans, Help with
Medicare Expenses, Save the Dream foreclo-
sureintervention programs, and others.

a number of local and national resources
which provide help to those with various
needs ranging fromemergency food to vet-
eran's assistance.

information on credit and debt concerns
Questions about caring for family mem-
bers with special needs suchas develop-
mental disabilities or autism, Alzheimer's
Disease/memory loss, chemical dependency,
significant mental health ar emotional issues,
or a disability.
Accessing low or no costmedical or dental
care ar health insurance resources
Food pantry and hot meals information
Information on services for senior citizens,
suchas home health care, long termcare,
home meal delivery, emergency call but-
tons, and more
Help with accessing baby needs, school
clothing and supplies for struggling families
Medicare Counsel ing
As a trained and certified Medicare counse-
lor with the Ohio Department of Insurance
OSHIIP Program, the Community Resource
Coordinator is able to assistclients with mak-
ing decisions about Medicare programs and
explain the benefits for whichthey are eligi-
ble.
Parish Nurses
Inaddition, the Community Resource Coordi-
nator works closely with the parish nurses in
Hudsonto provide coordinated care to
those experiencing a health concern, as well
as by collaborating on education programs
focused on community wellness which are
offered throughout the year.

website and blog produced and maintained
by the Community ResourceCoordinator,
provides information on programs and re-
sourcesinthe community. Thisinformation is
accessible 24 hours per day, 7 days per
week. Blog postings provide timely infor-
mation which is useful to struggling families,
suchas free school supplies giveaways in the
fall and winter heating utility assistance pro-
