Today`s grammar point is the conjunction uchi ni, which is used to designate a period in which some condi-
tion or situation remains in eIIect. Uchi ni is similar to aida in that they can both be used to express an in-
terval oI time. However, uchi ni carries the nuance that whatever follows relies on the condition or situation
marked by uchi ni, while aida simply indicates the interval.
