Worked example for Main Group
Remember back to the video yesterday, what is a
line graph?

Features of a line graph
x-axes along bottom
y-axes up side
x-intercept (where is crosses the axes)
y-intercept
gradient (steepness of line)

Worked example pg 337

a) Describe what is being shown in A, B and D
In A = she starts at home (x axes shows 0km) time is
increasing and distance is increasing, so she is
walking away from home.

In B = Time is increasing but distance is not
increasing, so we know that she has stopped.

In D= Time is increasing but distance to home is
decreasing, so we know she is moving towards home
again.

b) Walking the fastest = D (steepest line, she
covered more distance then A or C in less time)

c) Walking the slowest = C (section A and C covered
almost the same distance, but section A took about
half the time)

d) Total distance walked = She walked 2km away
from home then 2km back to home (4km total)
