The Ilocos field trip was held last

February 4-7, 2011. Even before the trip and

while traveling I have already been thinking
about the places, artworks or architectural
designs which we will be seeing once we
arrive at Ilocos.
I know that there are a lot of
beautiful creations man made or naturally
made, which we are about to see. This was
also the time when Im already thinking
which of the places, artworks or
architectural designs I should pick to share in this paper.
Since there are a lot of buildings or structures which we saw, I cant pick any of them.
There is always this uniqueness in every house, shops, restaurant or even factories which we saw
along the way or when we pass by when we were strolling around. The place where we stayed at
is Cordillera Family Inn which was owned by the Crisologo family and it was also located near
the plaza which is located on the center of the town where a lot of houses and shops can also be
seen and visited. It is amazing to see the houses there still being used and maintained up until
now. Walking along the streets of Vigan made me feel like I was in the Spanish era.
Along with this town, there are remarkable churches and bell towers were also visited.
The baroque and amazingly strong foundation of these churches and towers are wonderful. I
really wondered and got amazed on how these were all built since the technology during that
time is not like today but then they were able to produce world class infrastructures such as
these.
Ilocos is not just known for its man-made beauty but also for its beaches. The shores of
Laoag, Banggi, and Pagudpud were visited. It was really breathtaking. It was form naturally
while there are windmills built in Banggi which added a more scenic feeling to the place.
