Selected Response Assessment
Level of Study: Spanish 3- High School
Unit: Chapter 5 of Exprsate!

Clear Purpose: The purpose of this summative assessment is meant to see how much a high
school student in a Spanish 3 class knows about the Chapter 5 reading from Exprsate!. This
particular chapter involves art and music and allows the student to learn more about and use
the passive voice in sentences. This assessment will take approximately 30-45 minutes and will
be used to assess the level of understanding of passive voice, vocabulary words that do not
have the same translation or form as in English, and understanding a passage of text about art
and culture from Chapter 5. The assessment is made up of matching, true and false, and
multiple choice questions.
At the end of the test, the students will fill in a self-evaluation on how well they understood the
material and what they could work more on. Also they will provide feedback to the teacher in
order to improve the lessons and what should be focused on in class. This summative
assessment will be graded with each question being worth one point. It will be used to assess
the understanding of the students and what they know from class and the reading. After it is
graded and returned to the students, they will complete a self-assessment to see how well they
did based on the confidence level of each question.

Directions for Students: This is a summative assessment, which means it will be graded, and is
meant to test the knowledge of chapter 5 reading and in class discussion of our Spanish 3 class.
This assessment has a total of 21 questions, each worth one point: 10 matching of vocabulario,
5 multiple choice based on a reading about Diego Rivera, and 6 true and false questions about
la voz pasiva.
Make sure to take your time and if there are any questions about the test be sure to raise your
hand and the teacher will come to your desk to help. As always, I expect no cheating. After
each question make sure to honestly fill in the circle of either Estoy seguro or No estoy
seguro. There will be no penalty for marking No estoy seguro, but rather its for your
personal evaluation of how confident you feel about your answer.
Example: After answering a question if you are completely sure about your answer you
will fill in Estoy seguro.

At the end of the test you will complete the self-evaluation and honestly answer how well you
think you did and provide feedback to the teacher in order to tell what you would like to focus
more on in class. There is no penalty for being honest that you were not prepared for the test.

up the test and set it on the front table. Then return to your seat and begin tonights
homework that will be written on the board. Buena suerte and remember there is no rush so
