( Experimental) The exercise went off smoothly but the
General was skeptical. 1 Hour was goo d time fr om the time the code word
was received till the time the Ens. gpt moving again, but this is not the

must achieve our object therefore getting into these positions might
delay us too mlilch. .
Some units used open ground and others and buildings ,everyone
had different posftions.For instance one unit was dispersed ro much that
the Officer in charge did not mow ,Nhere bis troops were.

o. C. of allother group. Each group commander is responsi ble fo r his own
protection and selection of ground.
Communication was varied some very quickly others very slow.
Troop 3 is too cumbersome in that it has too many vehicles.This will

The Lager should be formed,\vith the Arty as the nucleus and form the
Infantry around them not .as. it VIas in some cases wi th the Inf811try as the "")

The Arty does not mind splitting a Tp but if the Jnf wants the fire
power of a Tp it cannot split a Tp up and get it effectively. .
M.Gs have A/Tk mines ,they could utilize them for protection and
the !lli.nefields could be covered by .Arty fi re wi th a very good effect.
The General ordered our nnve by Bde Tpt and it is time that we had
another move.
Distance between vehicles was not constant and the judging of
distance by the drivers was very poor. The re were two extremes the vehicles
either too close or too far apart.
It is much preferred that the vehicles get across th e start I,ina
early rather than late.In one case the head of the group crossed the S.?
on time and the tail cleared 15 minutes late.
F.S.P.B. lays dO\ffi that on halts vehicles Should decrease the
distance.between by 20 yds.Drivers should also have practise in

Engineers have too few tools for the size of work party they
ask for.Brig suggests that senior Officer go ,nth Engineers and
