Math Line Brochure

When making a line for our line

company many of our loving patrons have
had trouble, this brochure was made to
remedy this problem.
Transfer from simple
equation to graph
This is the type of graph we
receive the most but there are often
mistakes.
Y=MX+B this is the equation that you
should be formatting all your lines in
I am going to give all of the variables you
need to fill all others keep the variables
M= the slope of the line, this is where you
insert the slope of the line.
B= the Y intercept, where the line crosses
the vertical axis.
Transfer from encrypted
equation to graph
This is the type of graph that
people make the most mistakes on, because
its is not formatted correctly.
For this the equation may be out of order in
any number of fashions. One negative
thing about this is that you may have to
bring variables from one side of the
equation to the other.
7X+Y=7
For this you would need to bring the 7x to
the other side of the equation by minusing
it from both sides, so it would become
Y=-7X+7
Find equation from 2 points
One of the most difficult ways for
you to find your equation is to find it using
two points, like
(2,1) and ( 3,4)
For this equation, you will once again need
to find the slope and Y intercept for the
equation so you could either make a table
or compare the cords in your head
X Y
2 1
3 4
So this is the very start of the table, look at
this and attempt to find the change in X
compared to the change of Y, so for this
the X grows by 1 for every time the Y
grows by 3. So the is 1/3 So if you want to
find the Y intercept you need to trace back
the graph
X Y
0 -5
1 -2
2 1
3 4
So with this knowledge you can see the
equation is Y=1/3X-5
