Activity: Make it Your Own! or How I learned to be persuasive by creating an Ad!
Instructions: Rhetoric was created in order to be persuasive. In groups of 4 (2 pairs of buddies
per group) create an advertisement that uses the three Rhetorical appeals (Ethos, Pathos, and
Logos) to sell a product. The ad must be from 2-5 minutes long. It can be done either in video
form, or performed in class. Either way, it has to be within the established time limit. The ad
must be persuasive and convince the audience (your peers) that the product is a must-have
product.
Documents to hand in the day of submission:

Video of advertisement. If it was performed, the script used


A written document that explains the product, and why it is important to have.
Essentially, this is your presentation, but in written form.
A written report that documents everything that was done in the group. All members
must include what they did for this assignment.
Brief reflection from all of the students on what they learned from this assignment.

Rules:

All students must participate in the creation of advertisement. If there is a student that
does not participate, that student will get a Zero, and the group will lose 5 pts in their
final grade.
If there is a problem with a student, the group must inform me immediately so that I can
make the adjustments. Failure to do so will affect the final grade.
It must be original. It cannot be plagiarized from the Internet or another assignment.

Due Date: November 20th, 2014. No late submissions will be accepted.


Value: 50 pts
