To determine the area of a trapezoid, use the formula

Find the area of the trapezoid. (Challenge: Find the perimeter!)

You are designing a park for your town by laying it out on a piece of
graph paper. Each grid square represents a 10 meter by 10 meter
square. What is the area of the park?

The area of a trapezoid is 100 square millimeters. Its height is 5

millimeters and one of its bases is 10 millimeters longer than the
other. Find the lengths of the two bases.

To determine the area of a rhombus or kite using their diagonals,

use the formula

Find the area of the gure. (Challenge: Find the perimeter!)

One diagonal of a kite is twice as long as the other diagonal. The

area of the kite is 72.25 cm2. Find the length of each diagonal.

Find the perimeter and area of the trapezoid.

window embedded in it in the shape of a regular octagon. The wall
measures 8 feet by 10 feet. The window has a side length of 1 foot
and an apothem that measures about 1.21 feet. What is the area of
the surface that you need to retile?

How many boxes of tiles will you need to buy if each box contains
20 ft2 of tiles?
