Daily Start up Routine: (5 min)
Thursday Trivia:
1. List two ways you get from place to place.
2. Look through the things you brought to class with you, find where something was made.
3. List a short summery of one story you saw in CNN News today
Lesson:
-Go over movement summery, relate back to Thursday Trivia (3 min)
-Start with goods and services: (10 min)
-Where do you get your clothes from?
-view prezi
-Now think about where your t-shirt comes from?
-How much would it cost you to go to Asia and back? How much did you pay for the T-shirt your
wearing?
-Movement of Ideas: Watch CNN News (15 min)
-Where are some of the schools they call out on CNN Student news?
-How many people is Carl Azuz Reaching? Why is knowing current events important?
-Social Media is incredibly powerful, same with the news, and newspapers and books

- A few weeks ago we heard a story in CNN news about a certain country that does NOT have
the freedom to share ideas, where was that?
-Movement of People:
-Explain activity, go through activity
Closure:
-Sit back down, what are the three things that we study movement of?
-How do we see these in everyday life
-Whats up for tomorrow?
-Homework!! DO population density worksheet in packet

Reflection:
Had to chop out the middle of the lesson and the last part because I wildly over planned. But those will
be completed tomorrow. Kids asked a lot of really good questions about the journey of a t-shirt prezi.
Will definitely use the prezi again in future years. Kids understood why we move goods all over the
world before bring them back to the US.
Activity went very well also. First hour ran out of time to reflect after the lesson , but we will do more of
that tomorrow. Kids liked being out of their seats and having to make choices about their own lives in a
fun way.
