AEDP Program Guidelines

Highlights
All of the rules, regulations, and expectations are based on the core values of mutual respect
and the importance of a high school education.
Attendance: Because of the shortened nature of the semesters, attendance is mandatory.
If you will be late or absent for any reason, you MUST call the office or text Mrs. Cameron.
Unexcused Absences: Students are allowed ONE unexcused absence per class day. (One
for Mon/Wed classes, one for Tues/Thurs.) After the first absence, you are able to make
up TWO more classes, but at a cost of $10 each. All missed work must be made up
within 2 weeks of the absence. It is the students responsibility to schedule a make-up
session with the teacher or Mrs. Cameron. Four or more unexcused absences will result
in withdrawal from the class.
Excused Absences: Calling with a reason for your absence does not equate an excuse
medical appointments, car trouble, etc. are the reason students are given one unexcused
absence for free! Absences are excused for the following reasons ONLY:
o Death in the immediate family
o Observance of a major religious holiday
o Appearance in out-of-state court
o Emergency room visit the day of the visit
o Temporary housing relocation
Tardiness: You are expected to be in your classroom at the start of class (6:00 or 7:30),
NOT first walking into the building. Therefore, you should check in 5 to 10 minutes
before the start of class. Arriving to class late by less than fifteen (15) minutes counts as
one tardy. Four (4) tardies will add up to one unexcused absence. Any single tardy in
excess of fifteen (15) minutes will also be considered an unexcused absence.
School Hours: The Student Center opens at 3:30 PM. If you wish to come to school before
please notify Mrs. Cameron so she can be sure to be available. All students should make
reasonable efforts to leave school grounds directly after class.
Homework: The policy on incomplete homework assignments is a three strike rule:
1. The first strike is at the discretion of your teacher. He or she will go over his or her
individual homework policy for that class.
2. The second missing homework (in the same class), will result in a meeting with Mrs.
Cameron to discuss a plan for success.
3. The third missing homework will be considered an unprepared absence from the class,
and will count like any other unexcused absence. You may buy back this absence by
coming to school at 5 PM within 2 days for academic support. You must come in at 5:00
even if you made up the homework on your own.

Disruptions: Any disruptions in class or on school grounds will not be tolerated. Disruptive
students will be asked to leave class and appropriate measures will be taken by the program
coordinator. Students may only use those areas of the building specifically set aside for the
Evening Program. If a student is found in an unauthorized part of the building, s/he will be
referred to the program coordinator. If a student is removed from the building two (2) times,
this may result in suspension from the class or program.
Drug Policy: Any student suspected of being under the influence or in possession of a controlled
substance will be asked to leave the program.
