Reader Response Letter
Both authors of the selected passages for our interpretation presented many effective
and great tools for writing and for understanding assignments. One tool that I have not
previously utilized in my career is looking for key words in the assignment. This tool can
ultimately help me tackle harder writing assignments with ease, allowing myself to focus on
what the paper essentially and realistically needs to be written about. The evaluation of key
words in the prompt will allow me to narrow my scope of the paper in order to effectively
communicate the message intended for the paper. Another tip presented is to recognize the
genre that the paper is intended to be written in. Fiction and non-fiction are not necessarily
written the same way, and this should be taken into account when composing a written work.
The second work presented much more personal tips for writing, not dealing with the actual
paper itself but rather the writer. One of the tips presented is to have fun with the work. By
trying to create a more enjoyable experience of writing, try to fine some personal enjoyment in
your work or the subject that your work composes of. This tool of creating a source of
amusement allows the writer to put forth their best efforts, not only because they have to, but
because they want to. Another tool shown by the author that I use quite frequently Is to write

with music. With some form of music in the background it helps eliminate some of the stress
while writing the paper, and even offer a new form of influence and ideas for the writer to
transpose into their work. The different tools for composing a paper presented by the two
authors are different in context but both equally as useful for current and future writers.
