Rationale:!
Students are excited about movies and play a large in their relaxation time. As a part of learning
expectations throughout the year at Fig Tree Pocket, students are excepted to perform an oral
presentation. it is decided to draw upon students interest in movies as context for their learning
to occur and for students to give a movie review on their shared interest in movies. !

1) What is a movie review? Discuss the main features of a movie review!

2) Provide students with definitions and dictionaries of the generic structure headings. Divide
students in to expert groups to jointly construct a definition for Film review headings. Students
become experts in the heading of a film review.!

3) Once students have completed their definitions from the expert group, they move around the
class to teach other students about their definition and to be taught. !

4) Divide students into mixed groups and they jointly deconstruct an exemplar of a Film Review:
Finding Nemo. Write in pairs students find examples for each section. !
