Top four pieces of work in an Elective

I chose Sports Training as my elective because I enjoyed this class and did very well in it because
of that. I have been an athlete since I could walk, so everything we learned grabbed my interest. Along
with having binder checks and taking tests and quizzes, we practiced and then later were graded on
different wrapping techniques for different parts of the body. I chose my Sports Training Grading Rubric
for the Closed Basket Weave Ankle Wrap, an Agenda, my Chapter 1 Test, and my Appendicuar/Axial
Mock Quiz for my exhibits.
A Closed Basket Weave Ankle Wrap is what trainers do for athletes before sporting events. We
were graded on each specific part of this wrap. First we had to explain the preliminary information of
the wrap. This information included the purpose of the wrap, materials needed, site preparation,
anatomy, and RTP. Next came the actual wrapping process. First I had to position the athlete properly,
and place the gel pads and pre wrap. I was graded on the placement of Anchor #1 and #2, Vertical Strip
#1, Horizontal Strip #1, Vertical Strips #2 and #3, Horizontal Strips #2 and #3, Fill Ins, Arch Supports, Heel
Locks, and Cyanotic Signs and the feel. I got 125 out of 125 on this wrap. For the Agenda Worksheet, we
were given a sheet with a list of terms on the front and back that related to the chapter we were
learning. We had to look up what everything was so we could all talk about it as a class. I got 100% on
this as well. My Chapter 1 Test was out of 109 total points. There were ten true and false, four fill in the
blanks, twenty one short answers, two short essays, and six identifying questions all about bones, their
functions, and locations on the body. I got 107 out of 109 on this test. Finally, the Appendicular/Axial
Mock Quiz was over, of course, everything that has to do with the Appendicular and Axial Skeleton. I
got 61 out of 58 after getting all five of the extra credit points right. These gave us the common or
slang version of bones and we had to give the proper name for them.
I chose these assignments as my exhibits because they show not only my knowledge of the
human body but my ability to study and work hard to succeed in a class. In college I will have a lot of
classes that will be very intricate classes and without studying and working very hard to thrive I wont do
very well in college or in life. Something I live by is always work your hardest because you never know
when your last day will be and you dont want to be remembered as the guy that only worked when he
wanted to. If you work hard at everything that you have to do, I am 99% sure you will be successful as a
person.
