Midterm 2: CS61B & EE40

EE40
When:
WEDNESDAY 11/12
What:
Reading: 3-6, all of 4, all of 5
1. maximum power to the load (Rs=Rl); some of the practice midterm 1 exams have
problems on this.
2. non-ideal op amp model without any feedback
input resistance
output resistance
open loop gain (A)
rails
dynamic range
clipping
etc
3. non-ideal op amp model with negative feedback
4. ideal op amp problems
experiments with various topologies, always maintain negative feedback
then go back to #3 and ask yourself if I could make a problem where using an ideal
op amp model would be inappropriate (even though the op amp is in negative
feedback). i.e. when would you not use the ideal op amp model?
5. C's
fundamental relationships
Q,C,V,U,P...
C equivalent circuits
6. ditto for L's
7. RC problems
one C, no L, any number of switches, DC sources and resistors
8. ditto for RL

9. more than two C's or L's... can't solve the diff eqn, but can you use
nodal/mesh/whatever to obtain the diff equation? I discussed this in lecture on
Wednesday; ask your friends if you are not sure what this is about.
