Lesson Introduction
*How will you engage
your students in the
topic?

The teacher will start the lesson by asking students if

they know what nouns, pronouns, and verbs are.
Once the students give her the answers, the teacher
will then explain the proper definition of nouns
pronouns, and verbs. A noun is a person, place, or
thing. A verb is what you do. (The teacher will
compare this to the Nike commercial.

Procedure
*Be specific give stepby-step instructions

First, the teacher will connect her question to the

lesson they are doing today. The teacher will have
two examples from the fourth grade grammar book.
These two examples will have examples of nouns
and verbs in it. This teacher will actively engage the
students with the examples by asking them questions
about each sentence. The teacher will have the
students come up to the board and circle the nouns
and verbs in each sentence.

The teacher will then have a student to hand out
the worksheets that they will be working on. The
name of this worksheet is called Chore Confusion. In
this worksheet, students will have to rewrite the list of
sentences by correctly matching the verb with each
noun. The teacher will give the student ample time to
finish the worksheet. This should only take about ten
minutes. After the students finish the worksheet, the
teacher will then go over the worksheet with the
students. While they answer the questions, the
teacher will reinforce nouns and verbs by asking
students which word is the noun and which word is
the verb. The teacher will let the students answer the
questions on the worksheet. If student struggles to
answer one of the questions, the teacher will allow
the students to phone a friend.

Lesson Closure
*How will you summarize
the lesson?

The teacher will close the lesson by connecting

nouns and pronouns to everyday lives. Lil Wayne is a
noun because he is a person. The Nae- Nae is a
verb because its something you are doing. There
are many nouns and verbs that we see every day
that we dont even realize it.
