The Last Shot

I remember it like it was yesterday.
It was the 2020 NCAA Basketball Championship.
I thought it was a fantasy.
Coach drew up the play for me, I would get the last shot.
We yearned to brake the lead of the Bruins, 99-97it was definitely not a lot.
There was a very small fragment left on the clock5 seconds left.
It was on.
I brought the ball up the court.
The defender made sure, the rim for me would not be seen.
Time was frozen.
I got a pick.
I turned the corner andI could see the rim!
Taking the shot, my heart was beating like a drum.
The buzzer echoed.
And the crowd erupted.
Immediately, our fans rushed the court.
All that I could see was confetti.
I finally got to hold that trophy.
Shed those tearsand declare myself, A NATIONAL CHAMPION.
The score was warming, Notre Dame 100, UCLA 99.
Nobody will forget that day.
The day Notre Dame won the title.
Next came NBA Draft Day for me.
