WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO
KEEP A GOOD GPA ?
1. College Admission - Most colleges require a certain GPA to attend or get
accepted into the University
2. Increases chances for Financial Aid There are many merit based
college aid applications meaning you get rewarded for having better
grades
3. Graduating
4. Saves Money- If you plan on going to college (especially out of state) ,
tuition is going to be very high in price, having a good GPA could
potentially reduce the cost.
5. Once your GPA drops, it is very challenging to bring it back up.

Students seeking admission to a University System of Georgia college or university are required to
meet the freshman index requirements.
The Freshman Index is calculated by combining the high school grade point average (GPA) with the
highest earned SAT or ACT test scores.

+ SAT Critical Reading + SAT Math
