A: The official British explanation was that the Bengal Native army hafd alone
mutinies, any civil disturbances that occurred after, were native by-product of
the collapse of law and order.
2. What does the term mutiny implies?
A: Rebellion against authorities. Especially by soldiers or sailors. It implies
insubordination within the military.

3. What was the P-53 Enfield Rifle Cartridge Issue?


A: The cartridges of the p-53 rifles were pig and cow fat greased. The loading
action required that operators ripped the cartridge with teeth. Therefore this
was a problem for Hindus and Muslims. This was a religious conflict.
4. What was the impact of cartridge issue on the uprising of 1857?
It spread anarchy. The soldiers were being forced to rip the cartridge with their
teeth. The authorities werent listening to the soldiers. The soldiers started to
rebel. It dissatisfied the soldiers.

A: IT occurred in the June of 1857. Nana Sahib, Tantiya Tope, Azimolah Khan,
and Brigadier Jwala Prasad are leading luminaries of the war in gaining
control of Kanpur and driving the British near defeat.

Kanpur was the first successful anti colonial re-possession of the India soil.
