“Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of real education." -
Martin Luther King, Jr.
1. Arrive on time prepared
Enter the room before the final bell. You can still be late if the teacher is not present. Attendance will be taken at the bell.
2. Put away all unnecessary supplies and keep them away
Food, drink and candy aren’t needed in the classroom. Plan around this. Toys and other electronics are also not allowed without specific permission from the teacher. Example a calculator on your phone can be used if okayed first. Items will be taken and kept by the teacher. If you hesitate or argue they will be turned into the office. Repeat offences will also be turned into the office.
3. Get on task ASAP
What are we doing today? Is not allowed. Agendas will be written on the board. You will have long term activities most days that you can start on. If you’re unsure about what to do ask a neighbor or wait patiently.
4. Only leave when appropriate
Restroom visits require a quarter pass. Not having a quarter pass will cause a passing loss. All passes should be prewritten for signature. Do not leave without cleaning up a pass will be given to you.
5. Demonstrate good employability skills
a. Constantly adapt to technology.
b. Embrace diversity. c. Be a life-long learner. d. Practice impeccable integrity. e. Be a self-starter. f. Demonstrate personal discipline. g. Prioritize and evaluate daily. h. Be adaptable. i. Think creatively and innovatively. j. Have the Can-Do attitude.
