Course Title: Enterprise Resource Computing

Course Description
The course is about integrated enterprise-wide information system. An enterprise resource
planning (ERP) system integrates the information system of an organization and automates
most of the business functions. A properly implemented ERP system can dramatically
improve the efficiency and competitive advantage of an organization. The present day ERP
solutions provide end-to-end functionalities for the entire value chain, linking multiple
enterprises irrespective of country, location, language, and business practice.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course, it is expected that the students are aware of the theoretical and
practical aspects of enterprise resource computing. They are able to examine the business and
managerial challenges involved in ERP.
Course Contents
Overview of enterprise wide software solution- evolution, concepts, justification, benefits and
risks; ERP and technology- e-commerce, data warehousing, data mining, BPR, OLAP, SCM
and CRM; ERP modules- finance, production and operations, human resources, marketing;
ERP modelling and implementation; ERP packages, market, players; ERP- present and
future.

Mid-semester examination of 1 hour 30 minutes
Continuous Assessment
End-semester examination of 3 hours
