Thanksgiving Math Coloring Sheets

Art integration is one of the most effective ways to engage your students.
Students love to make art and when you combine it with math, writing and
other core subjects students are excited to learn. I have created this
product using my popular pop art images.You will find that I have filled
each image with patterns and then added math problems into the various
shapes and patterns. There are a LOT of math problems on each sheet-trust me, Im still crossed eyed from filling them in!
I have included addition up to 20, subtraction from as high as 25 and
multiplication and division that review all the times tables from the 2s to
the 9s. Instead of creating 2 separate products to break up the addition/
subtraction and multiplication/division, Ive included them ALL in this one
product at the same price as an individual set. There is something in here
for everyone!
These math sheets are great review of math facts and are also great for
discreet differentiation. As the teacher, you know which students need a
challenge and can do the division sheets and which students might still be
struggling with subtraction. You can give out these sheets and all kids can
work on their level.
I have also included writing prompts so when students finish early they
can write about the upcoming holiday...and in my fashion, I had to also
included one of my signature interactive coloring sheets in case youve
never used them with your students (more on that at the end of this unit).

Pop Art is a major art movement of the
second half of the 20th century (and
continues today) which includes imagery
from popular culture, sometimes removed
from its typical context, isolated, and/or
combined with unrelated material. Pop Art
employs aspects of popular culture such as
advertising, comic books, and other
common objects as opposed to those
characteristic of more elitist culture. It is
often simple, fun and colorful!
Famous Pop Art artists include Andy
Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Indiana,
Keith Haring, Jasper Johns, and more
recently, Romero Britto.
Steps
Step 1: Color in the parts of each
image by solving the math
problems in each shape. Instead
of writing the answer with a
number, use the grid at the top of
the page to find the correct color
that matches the answer to the
math problem.
Step 2: Cut out the

completed image when
you are finished.
Step 3: Display your

work for all to see!
Variation: You can also glue your finished image to a piece of construction paper so it has a nice
colorful background.
Extension: There are writing prompts you can work on when you are finished with your math.

Interactive Coloring Sheets

So much more than just coloring.
***I have included one bonus interactive coloring
sheet in this math product as well as one blank
pattern-filled coloring sheet. ***
My interactive coloring sheets are so popular with teachers because they are not just
ordinary coloring sheets. No two ever look the same and they are extremely useful for
developing important problem solving skills in students. As one of my Instagram followers
said:
I found that my 5th/6th graders come to me and because of the focus on testing, never
played with color or design or patterns. Your products give them that opportunity and Ive
seen so much improvement in their attention to detail as well as noticing patterns, lines, etc.
Its so much more than just coloring. ~E.D.
Students spend a lot of thought and consideration when deciding where the patterns will go
in each design. Students also have to color small details which improves their fine motor
skills which help with many things--handwriting being one example. If your students were to
make several of these (along with writings as well) they would have a beautiful portfolio at
the end of the year, like this teacher is doing.

How-To
1. Using the patterns in the five small boxes at the bottom of each page, fill
in the different parts of the pictures. Every time you run into a black line you
need to change the pattern. You dont have to put patterns in all the areas,
you can leave some blank. Its okay to repeat the patterns in different sizes
in different areas.
2. Color all the shapes and patterns.

Use crayons, colored pencils or
markers.
3. Cut out the large rectangle at the

top with the finished work. Display for
all to see!
