Instructional Input ( I
CAN)

Teacher Will:

Lecture on the end WWI and emergence of

WWII.

Make a Fish-Bone diagram on the causes

of World War II and how it stemmed from
the end of WWI.

Co-Teaching Strategy/Differentiation:

A Fish-Bone Diagram will help them visualize how the end of WWI led to the beginning of
WW2. Show a short clip on the aftermath of WWI and beginning of WWII.

With a partner, students will use their lecture

notes to create a Venn diagram on the causes
of the two World Wars. They will use both
Fish-Bone diagrams that they made
previously for WWI and WW2 to make
Venn diagram.

Co-Teaching Strategy/Differentiation/Check for Understanding

Independent Practice ( YOU CAN)

Walk around the room and ask questions in necessary.

Teacher Will:

Give instructions on essay. Provide help

if needed.

Student Will:

Using their 2 Fish-Bone Diagram and Venn

diagram, students will work on their essay,
with the teacher providing help if needed.

Differentiation
Fish-Bone Diagrams and Venn Diagrams help break down complex information and increase comprehension
by presenting the information in a well-organized visual manner. For those students who struggle with
cognitively organizing their thoughts, (ELLs, Special Ed, Visual Learners), graphic diagrams are a life-saver.

Closing/Student Reflection/Real-life connections: Shared similar beginnings, but thankfully had different outcomes.
