CLASS NEWS
Cold weather has arrived. Please make sure your child has warm
clothes for recess everyday. Once snow hits your child will also
need snow pants and boots.

MATH

READING & WRITING

In math we have finished unit 4,

repeated addition. In this very short
unit we learned about using arrays to
help with our addition. On Wednesday
we took the unit 4 math test and on
Thursday we took the benchmark test
on units 1-4. On Friday we learned a
new money game called Race to 50
cents.
This week we are reviewing doubles
plus 2 or 2 apart facts. For example,
3+5, 5+7, 7+9 etc. We take the smaller
number, double it and add 2 more or
take the number in the middle and
double it.

Happy Turkey Day!

In reading groups each group is reading a

book that has something to do with
Thanksgiving. We are working on new
vocabulary, sequencing, characters,
setting and adding additional information
to our study of the Pilgrims.
In writing, we are practicing writing to
prompts. The prompts that we are
working on this week have to do with
sequencing. We are using the words first,
next, then and last. This week we wrote
how to get to pink and how to get to red
on the behavior chart.

Science & Social Studies

We are so excited to be learning about the
Pilgrims. We have learned about their voyage
on the Mayflower, what the first village was
like, some of the jobs people needed to do and
what types of homes they built.
