Evaluation Letter
1. I chose to write about this topic because of the documentary I watched, Its a Girl, on
Netflix. It was the first time I ever heard of the term gendercide and sex selective
abortion. The documentary really interested me about the topic and made me want to
learn more about what is happening around the world. It opened up my perspective about
the challenges people are facing. Writing all the previous assignments and including this
one wasnt all that hard. The ideas flowed easily because I was keen on this subject,
making the writing process easier.
2. My main strength was being able to find a subject that really interested me allowing me
to write a lot about it. My main weakness was putting all my ideas and opinions into one
concise essay while fulfilling all the requirements.
3. Assignment Requirements: 8/10

I think I met all the requirements such as following the prompt instructions and
meeting the word count minimum, with a creative title and MLA format.

Content: 44/50

My thesis is seen at the end of my introduction paragraph which states my stance

on the topic, with evidence supporting my claim. My counter-argument is present,
however it might be enough.

Organization: 27/ 30

My topic sentences talk about what my paragraph will be about which supports
the paragraph and thesis statement. My paragraphs also flow, with my ending
sentence in a paragraph relating to the next topic in the following paragraph.

Mechanics: 7/10

I think that even though I proofread my work, I probably still have a good amount
of grammar and tense errors which I overlooked or could not figure out a way to
fix them.
